First concert of the new season raises over £400 for charity

The first concert of the season on Saturday 23rd September, 2017 held at St. Barnabas Church raised money for ‘Swindon Cares’ charity.

  • Swansea Male Voice open the concert with Nidaros, Anthem, Stout Hearted Men, I’m Gonna Walk and Nessun Dorma. Musical Director-Mair Lewis, Accompanist-Chris Samuel
  • Soprano Soloist, Matilda Wale, sings Se tu m’ami and The Violet

  • Swindon Male Voice Choir take the stage and give renditions of Let All Men Sing, Be Thou My Vision, Sinner Man and Wade in the Water. Musical Director- Max Brockman-More. Accompanist-Kate Lock.
  • Now joining forces the two choirs sing ‘An American Trilogy’.
  • An appreciative audience made the occasion one to remember.
  • At the concert eight Swindon Choristers were presented with Wesford Bowl certificates by the Swindon Mayor, Councillor Maureen Penny. Brian Pressey is first up. Followed by:

  • And finally.Who said you never see a male choirs smile! Chairman John Mills shares a joke with the choirs.
  • A few weeks later a cheque is presented to a representative from the Swindon Cares charity at the Mayor’s chamber.
