SMVC Winners! At the Cheltenham Performing Arts Festival on Saturday 16th May, 2015 SMVC competed in the Sacred Music and Male Voice Choir categories.

SMVC won the Best Male Voice category at the festival, with some outstanding comments from the adjudicators (see attached). A superb mixed choir called Cor CF1, who were BBC Choir of the year, 2015, won the Sacred Music category and the Gold cup for the most outstanding choir performance. Below are the photos of the day.

On a lovely summers afternoon the choir line up and prepare to take the stage at Cheltenham Town Hall, a spectacular venue and some have fond memories of when we last performed herein 2012 – winning the Sacred Music and Best Male Voice Choir categories

  • A tense wait before our second performance in the Male Voice Choir category.
  • But the wait was worthwhile. After great performances of our items: Let All Men Sing, Steady Light, The Water is Wide, Wuh-Duh-Yah Do with a Drunken Sailor we have some excellent comments from the adjudicators. Some say that is the fastest they have seen MD, Max Brockmann-More move as he went onstage to collect the cup.
